I can second the Cygnus sails endorsement, they have done a fair bit of top quality work for me in the past.

cheers Andy. I would get the official rope but when i ordered the last one it was just seriously a bit of manky rope. So all you get is a 2m bit of rope with a spliced eye at one end. U still have to do the diy bit and thread it through. At least the 08 and beyond bars have decent system unlike the older ones. Plus i want two of them so 40 bucks is just a joke. North have three ropes going through the bar and they get chewed up really quick so i would like the spare.

Believe it or not in a previous life i used to work in a chandlers shop splicing up marina berth springs. But i woz rubbish with a fid so would rather get someone else to do it.

I thought you'd have had enough of the home made kit by now Mike :p

Seriously, I'd pay the £18 and get the proper kit..

Anyone know a place that would do a spliced eye at the end of a rope? My depower line is starting to get a bit fraid on my 09 north bar and i would like to change it and also get a spare made up. I did buy an official spare one from North on my old bar and they charged me about £18 for a flimsy bit of rope.
