Welcome

Welcome to Fife & Edinburgh Kitesurf Club

The club was formed in 2005 to promote and safeguard all aspects of kitesurfing around the Forth Estuary and now holds full BKSA affiliation.  We currently have many active members and hold regular meets to keep in touch and organise trips and events.

If you're new to kitesurfing why not come along to one of our pub meets or post a thread on the forum where you will find plenty of info and friendly kitesurfers willing to help out. If you've got all the gear but no idea have a look at our FEKC Buddy system!

Beginners - Useful How To Guides

Calum has found an excellent resource for beginners which has good info and videos on kite setup, technique, safety and lots of more.

http://howtokiteboard.com/

Worth registering (free) to get all the videos, and definitely worth spending a couple of hours on prior to getting lessons etc as it will help you progress quickly if you know the theory and basics.

New Look website
Site News

As you will have noticed, the site has had a facelift!

There was nothing wrong with the old look, but we've had to perform some major upgrade work which has forced us to change theme.

Many thanks to Jon for his excellent graphic design skills - I think you'll agree that the site looks fresh and modern while still using our nice colours!

If you have any trouble with the new site please pm or email me - chrisdb@fekc.org.

Live SMS Beach Updates
Site NewsThanks to our friends over at nikiteforum.com we now have a live SMS service up and running. Basically, this allows you to send a txt to the website to let everyone know what the conditions are like at the beach!

So if you're down at Gullane and iot's howling and nobody else is there send a txt to -

+44(0)7786 200350

Use the following format:

fekc {name} {message}

Example: fekc chrisdb get yourselves down to Gullane, its blowing a hooley!

It's important to put the fekc at the front to make sure it gets to this site.

Txts will only cost the same as a normal text (or will be free if you have inclusive txts)

Website Change
Site NewsIMPORTANT NEWS!

Well folks, the big change to FEKC has happened (We gave you plenty of warning, so don't complain if you can't see parts of the website!). If you are a paid up member of FEKC then you won't notice anything different....BUT if you haven't parted with the minuscule fee of £10, then you will notice that you no longer have access to certain areas of the website.

If you wish to regain full access, then click on the 'Join FEKC' heading in the left hand column, fill out the form at the bottom of the page and you will then be given an address to send your Tenner off to. Upon receipt of your hard earned dosh we will immediately reinstate you onto the site.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to have insurance to join FEKC, however it is recommended for the safety of yourself and others.

We are sorry for any inconvenience, but the club and website cannot exist on thin air and the good will of a few people alone, so support your local club and website...JOIN FEKC NOW!!!

We would like to thank everyone who has joined so far and in doing so has ensured the future of the club and website. There will be a few special events coming up in 2008, keep an eye on the site for info!
